A man armed with a “sharp stone,” according to police, approached a clerk, demanded cash, and then fled the scene.
More than six hours later, the man who was allegedly involved in the robbery returned to the store to turn himself in.
“According to (the clerk), the male subject walked into the store at 6:42 p.m. and began crying,” according to Lt. Brian O’Keefe. “The man allegedly showed up at the store to return the cash he stole earlier in the day.”
An officer arrived at the scene, spoke with Reyes, and then eyed the surveillance video and stills from earlier in the day.
“(The officer) determined Reyes was the same man who robbed the store, so he placed him into custody and charged him with robbery,” O’Keefe noted.
Reyes is scheduled to be arraigned today.
