Storyteller Garrison Keillor
Host of the hit Radio show Prairie Home Companion comes to the Palace Theatre

Prepare to be immersed in all things Lake Wobegon, as renowned storyteller, humorist, and author, Garrison Keillor graces the stage of the Palace April 24th. With 28 books, collections of poems and sonnets in his name, Keillor’s command of the written and spoken word falls nothing short of incredible. Regaling audiences with tales of growing up in rural Minnesota, the people of Lake Wobegon pepper Keillor’s colorful stories.
When not writing his own material Keillor hosts the most popular radio show on the air: A Prairie Home Companion. For more than 40 years, Keillor’s sultry voice has wafted through the airwaves of radios all over the country. Averaging 4 million listeners on 700 different broadcast stations, A Prairie Home Companion has soothed commuters via car radios and transported listeners at home, envisioning the wiry figure of Mrs. Evelyn Lunberg giving brash advice, or the suave stylings of Guy Noir.
Keillor’s voice has had such an impact that he portrayed himself in the 2006 adaptation of A Prairie Home Companion. Fellow cast members include Meryl Streep, Lily Tomlin, Kevin Kline, Maya Rudolph, Lindsay Lohan, and John C. Riley. The film was directed by Robert Altman. Additionally Keillor has won Grammy, ACE, and George Foster Peabody awards and has been honored with the National Humanities Medal, and election to the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
