Thieves Are Stealing Rims And Tires From Lexus, Acura Cars: Cops

Investigators in New Hampshire's largest city are eyeing a string of early morning thefts – 10 – since late March on specific vehicles.

MANCHESTER, NH — Police in the Queen City are asking for the public’s help after a string of thefts targeting high-end vehicles, specifically, rims and tires. Ten thefts have been reported between March 21, and April 11, 2018, where during the early morning hours in Manchester, where tires and rims have been removed from Acura MDXs, Honda Accords, Civics, Toyota Camrys, and a few SUVs. Most of the vehicles were in areas surrounding large apartment complexes.

“It appears that the suspects are scouting out these areas in advance and are conducting the thefts at a time when there is little activity,” Lt. Paul Thompson of the Manchester Police Department said in a press statement. “Most of the vehicles that have been targeted have similar sized rims and tires. The rims and tires can be placed on stock vehicles of similar size, which increases their value.”

The Manchester Police Department is actively investigating these cases and is seeking the public’s assistance. Anyone with information relating to these crimes is asked to call the Investigations Division at 603-792-5500.
