According to police and witnesses, a 1998 Toyota Camry, driven by a 41-year-old Manchester woman, was driving at a high rate of speed and was passing other cars by driving into the oncoming, westbound traffic lane. As she tried to pass additional cars, she veered into the path of a 2000 Honda CR-V, driven by a 68-year-old Milford woman, striking the vehicle. The impact sent the Honda off the road and into some trees, according to police. The Toyota then struck a 2015 Nissan Rogue, driven by a 78-year-old Bedford woman, head-on, with the two cars coming to a rest in the middle of the roadway.

The three vehicles sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene.
