We are excited to announce the Bedford Police Department will be offering a R.A.D. Women's Self Defense Course in September. The class is open to females ages 12 and up and will be held for 4 classes for a total of 12 hours. Class dates are September 19th, 21st, 26th, & 28th from 530p-830p and will be instructed by ACO Haylie Gulino, Officer Shannon Gardner (pictured) & Officer Amanda Groves of Merrimack Police Department . R.A.D. is a woman's self-defense class that teaches education, dependency of self, self-realization of physical power, awareness, and recognition. The first three days focus on awareness and recognition as well as teaching basic self-defense needed to defend oneself if ever in a real life situation. The last day is when the women put what they learned to use in a controlled training environment. The class will be in the town of Bedford with the location given to participants only to ensure privacy. This class is free to all participants and you do not have to be a resident of Bedford to participate. Space is limited so applications will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
