Vandals Damage Bedford, Merrimack Mailboxes; Cops Seek Help With Case

30+ mailboxes were vandalized in Bedford; even more were damaged in Merrimack; both departments are working on a joint investigation.

BEDFORD, NH — Police in Bedford and Merrimack are asking for the public’s help solving vandalism cases in both communities.

Dozens of mailboxes have been damaged in both towns since Thursday, Bedford Police Chief John Bryfonski said on Monday. Investigators in both communities are working together to solve the cases.

During an initial investigation, he said, Bedford officers learned that more than 30 mailboxes had been damaged on Hancock Drive, McIntosh Lane, Meadow Road, Nashua Road, North Amherst Road, Old Lantern Road, Oriole Drive, Rosewell Drive, and Wallace Road. It is unknown at post time where mailboxes in Merrimack were damaged.

Bryfonski said police were requesting residents and businesses in those areas with home security or surveillance video from late Wednesday night to Thursday morning to check the footage for anything unusual.
