Merrimack Premium Outlets Nearing Opening

Merrimack Premium Outlets sign being installed in pieces.

With the Merrimack Premium Outlets only minutes down the Everett Turnpike from Bedford, and the , we know Bedford residents are excited to hear about the progress of southern New Hampshire's newest shopping mall.

Well, today a team of installers was put to work this week erecting the giant pilon sign that now sits just above the trees in the southeast corner of the site.

The internally-illuminated blue and white sign is 30 feet tall and 50 feet wide, according to Nathaniel Nevedal, an account manager with Walton Signs, based out of San Antonio, Texas. From the base of the posts holding it, to the top, it measures 85 feet tall.

A team of six people started installing the sign on Monday and Nevedal said it should be completed by the end of the week.

According to Mark Kroeger, assistant project manager for the Merrimack Premium Outlets, only the white letters of the sign will be illuminated – using LED lights.

"We tried to go as environmentally friendly with this sign as possible," Nevedal said, saying neon is no longer the lighting of choice for large signs like this.

Kroger said it will hopefully be lit next week.

A sign will also be installed in the coming days down the hill from the site, that will be seen from the F.E. Everett Turnpike just before the southbound Exit 10 off ramp.

And finally, a stonewall based sign is being constructed by another team at the entrance to the property at 80 Industrial Drive.
