Vigil Held for Obukhov Girls in Bedford on Monday

UPDATE: Event moved to Bedford Presbyterian Church; will celebrate, honor the lives of Katy and Lizzy.

Update, 8:58 a.m. Due to the mud at the Bedford Village Common Park, Monday evening’s candlelight vigil for Katy and Lizzy Obukhov has been moved to the steps and parking lot of the Bedford Presbyterian Church (4 Church Road, Bedford, NH 03110).

A family-oriented candlelight vigil will be held on Monday, April 13, to honor and celebrate the lives of Katy and Lizzy Obukhov, according to a press statement.

The event will take place from 7:30 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. at the Bedford Town Common Park.

The vigil is being planned and organized by parents, teachers and friends of Katy. The evening will include music and remarks from community members and friends of the girls. Donations will be collected for a permanent memorial for Katy and Lizzy at the Town Common Park.

The Town Common Park is located on Bell Hill Road in Bedford, directly behind the Bedford Town Library at 3 Meetinghouse Road.

Parking will be available at the following locations:

  • Bedford Presbyterian Church, 4 Church Road.
  • Bedford Youth Performing Company (BYPC), 155 NH-101.
  • Benedictine Park, Wallace Road (Do not park at the Bedford Public Library or anywhere along Route 101).

Two shuttle buses will run before and after the vigil to transport attendees from the Benedictine Park parking lot to the drop-off/pick-up location in front of the Bedford Town Hall.
