Walmart Foundation Donates $25K to Easter Seals NH

The money will be used at family and early support centers to help young children with disabilities and special needs.

MANCHESTER, NH - Easter Seals NH recently received a $25,000 grant from the Walmart Foundation to benefit Family-Centered Early Supports & Services (ESS), which annually touches the lives of more than 1,100 children with disabilities and special needs and their families in order to maximize cognitive, physical, and social/emotional development, so that all children may achieve their full potential, according to a press statement.

”We are proud to support Easter Seals New Hampshire and its commitment to improving the lives of New Hampshire veterans and their families,” said Chris Buchannan, Walmart Director of Public Affairs & State and Local Government Relations. “We know the support services Easter Seals provides can really make a difference in the lives of families and children with disabilities and special needs, and we look forward to continuing to see positive outcomes from their program.”

ESS are provided by Easter Seals NH in two regions in Southern New Hampshire. Typically, services are provided in natural environments such as the home or childcare settings. The $25,000 grant will support ESS therapists to provide more than 500 one-hour therapy sessions to children experiencing developmental delays. ESS allows children presenting with severe needs to benefit from therapies and interventions at a time in their life that is optimal for development, thus promoting independence, school readiness and the ability of children to achieve to their potential.
