Water Main Break Causes Road Closure
Bedford Police: The northbound side of South River Road is closed and will be for a while.

BEDFORD, NH - The Bedford Police Department reports that there will be an emergency road closure after planned overnight roadwork detected shifts in a water main that will require repair this morning, according to a press statement on May 12, 2016.
The northbound side of South River Road, north of Meetinghouse Road will be closed today, until crews can make necessary repairs. The Bedford Police Department urges motorists to avoid the area if possible, and traffic is being rerouted to Upjohn Street.
During overnight road work, crews found that the water main under South River Road had shifted, and Manchester Water Works determined that a repair was necessary immediately.

Crews are expected on scene for at least the next five to six hours, according to the alert.
