Weather

Prepare for snow, sleet, and a messy Tuesday night and Wednesday. According to the National Weather Service, expect partly sunny skies on Monday with highs in the mid-to-high 40s. Overnight lows will drop down into the high teens or low 20s closer to the coast. Things get a bit colder on Tuesday, with highs in the high 20s and low 30s, with snow expected during the overnight hours. By morning, the snow will turn to sleet, rain, and/or freezing rain, but it will warm up a bit, with highs in the mid-40s. The sun returns Thursday, highs in the high 30s.

Monday

  • Auditions for “The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife,” will be held at 6 p.m. at the Community Players of Concord studio, 435 Josiah Bartlett Road in Concord.
  • The Gibson’s Book Club reads “At Home,” by Bill Bryson, at 7 p.m. at the store on 45 S. Main St. in Concord.
  • Lisa Guyer hosts an open mic night at 8 p.m. at Whippersnappers Restaurant, 44 Nashua Road in Londonderry.
  • Old School performs at the Dolphin Striker, 15 Bow St. in Portsmouth at 9 p.m.

  • The Concord Regional VNA Hospice Lights of Life Community Remembrance Ceremony begins this week with the first event at 12:15 p.m. at Horseshoe Pond Place, 26 Commercial St. in Concord.
  • A Tuesday night Zumba class will be held at the Bedford Old Town Hall, 70 Bedford Center Road in Bedford, at 6 p.m. The fee is $7.

  • St. Joseph School of Nursing, 5 Woodward Ave. in Nashua, hosts an admissions open house from 3 to 6 p.m.
  • Whippersnappers Restaurant, 44 Nashua Road in Londonderry hosts trivia and comedy semi-finals at 6:30 p.m.
  • WineNot Boutique, 170 Main St. in Nashua, hosts a wine and chees tasting social at 5 p.m.
  • The Arena Sports Bar, 53 High St. in Nashua, hosts dynamic speed dating for those folks who are single and 30 to 54 at 7 p.m. Registration is required. The fee is $35.
  • The Belinda Bridgeman Academy of Dance’s production of “The Nutcracker, Act II,” will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Merrimack High School.

Thursday

  • It’s Ring in the Season time in Downtown Exeter. All the fun starts at 11 a.m. and runs through 8:30 p.m. and includes caroling, the lighting of the town and festival of trees, and a visit from Santa Claus, too.
  • The Bach Lunch Series at the Concord Community Music School continues at noon with Christmas Carols: King’s College to Concord, featuring Nicholas White of St. Paul’s School. The school is located at 23 Wall St.
  • Dimitri & Guest perform at Rudi’s Portsmouth, 20 High St. in Portsmouth.
  • Donald Hall speaks about his new book, “Essays After Eighty,” at 6 p.m. at Gibson’s Bookstore.
  • A slew of authors will be at the Wadleigh Memorial Library, 49 Nashua St. in Milford, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss and sign their books.
  • Brandon Lapere plays Whippersnappers Restaurant in Londonderry at 8:30 p.m.
