Due to an unanticipated medical emergency, I unfortunately was unable to attend last night's joint meeting of the Bedford Town Council, School Board, and the town's legislative delegation as I had planned to do.
I'm told that 58 Bedford taxpayers were there. To that I say hurrah!!! I'm also told that many spoke their minds. Double hurrah!!!
Among the subjects addressed by the public was the big tax increase we are facing due to the school budget. For whatever good it will do, I hope that this will translate to a big crowd of affected taxpayers at the upcoming school deliberative session on next Tuesday night, February 4 and to the Town Council budget hearing on Wednesday night, February 12.
I'd love it if people would comment here on what went on last night. Bedford residents need to know. Learning that they are not alone in their consternation will help other people to speak up and be heard. We desperately need that in this town.
