For Whom the Bell Tolls

Thank you for all the scandals in the ‘most transparent administration in U. S. history’: Fast and Furious gun running, Eric Snowden security leaks, NSA spying on citizens, IRS debacle, VA mismanagement leading to veteran patients death, Secret Service prostitution, Benghazi deaths, Libya, Syria, Iraq, ISIS and now Ebola entering the U. S. It’s refreshing to know that a large bureaucratic enterprise such as the federal government still has what it takes to put a burr under the public’s saddle with appropriate cover stories and perpetual deception.

Thank you for governmental ineptitude in not securing our southern border. Surely we need more drug runners to compete with legalized marijuana states to lower pot prices; and more unskilled, undocumented, non-English speaking aliens and dependents to fill up our public school systems to overflowing and expand community budgets. More bang for the buck – right?

Thank you for allowing the administration to always pick the losers in environmental, clean-green energy startup companies. We all know how bad capitalism is, and that the country needs more corporate losers to offset business success to increase unemployment.

Thank you for administrative stalling on the Keystone Pipeline initiative. Obviously China needs cheaper oil sold to them by Canada then we do – in the interest of international friendship and commerce of course!

Thank you for the 47 million people now on Food Stamps who have created a budding cottage industry bartering their stamps for drugs and other useful items. And let’s not forget the ancillary use of EBT cards for pot, gambling and strippers. Isn’t Uncle Sam great?

Thank you for all the ‘Occupy Wallstreeter’s’ and their clown-clones for demonstrating the ability of a crowd to dump tons of trash into a small city area.

Thank you for so-called ‘Reverend’ Al Sharpton as a special confidant of Obama and for the increase in racial tension in America.

Thank you for the wonderful Obamacare rollout; especially its easily navigated website that ended up costing the taxpayers about two billion dollars. It should have cost only a few hundred thousand but hey, didn’t Obama pledge to ‘spread the wealth’. Wait till you see the insurance premium price hikes this fall!

I would be remiss in not thanking you for Nancy ‘I live in a separate universe’ Pelosi and Harry Reid. Ol’ ‘Whorehouse Harry’ (his true nickname – check it out) with his benign obstructionism has over 300 bills passed by the House of Representatives that he refuses to bring to a vote. But who needs all that unnecessary paperwork anyway?

Thank you for electing a community organizing law professor with no previous leadership, management or business experience. Running a lemonade stand would have been a good start. God knows that this country desperately needed non-existent leadership and mismanagement in order to fulfill the campaign pledge to ‘fundamentally transform America’ into a banana republic. The good thing about leading from behind is that you’ll always have 20/20 hindsight!

Finally, thank you for making the remaining years of my life the absolutely most miserable, as I see the country that I love and served steadily decline with American culture and values no longer recognizable.

If this little ditty embarrasses or offends you – good then there’s still hope for our country. If it doesn’t make you reflect on what’s wrong in our country – then John Dunne was also wrong that no man is an island to himself and surely “For whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee!”
