Will Commuter Rail Be Governor Sununu's 'Boondoggle'?

Governor Sununu described the commuter rail plan to bring MBTA to Concord a 'boondoggle'. He was right.

Governor Sununu once noted that extending the bankrupt MBTA from Massachusetts to Concord would be a massive "boondoggle" for New Hampshire. And he was right! The DOT themselves have said that it would require massive new taxes to support, and that the limited ridership would not be worth it.

The Governor is dead set against anything that might bring on the need for an income tax, or so he says.

The bill to enable the planning process of this commuter rail boondoggle is SB 241 which passed along partisan lines. Not one Republican voted for it in the Senate, nor in the House Committee where it was vetted. Today it passed the House floor vote along Democrat party lines.

If Governor Sununu doesn't VETO SB 241, he will be responsible for the biggest financial boondoggle ever to be foisted on NH. If he doesn't, you the taxpayer will be paying for it forever.

Call him now and tell him not to leave this burden on NH as his legacy...
