Woman Shot Dead in Manchester
Police investigating a shooting in the area of Ray, Carpenter streets last night; witnesses say a red pickup truck fled the scene.

Manchester Police are investigating a shooting on Aug. 30, 2015, in the north end of Manchester.
Witnesses reported hearing shots around 9:15 p.m. near Ray and Carpenter streets. A single victim, a woman in her 30s, was found by police on the ground with bullet wounds.
According to Jeffrey Hastings of Frame of Mind Photography, according to scanner chatter, a doctor was on the scene attempting to treat the victim who had reportedly passed away.

The police “set up a large permitter of crime tape and interviewed area residents.” According to the interviews, “multiple people reported a red pickup driving quickly from the area at the time of the incident,” according to Hastings. The witnesses also heard at least one scream and multiple gunshots.
The state’s medical examiner came on scene along with crime scene investigators and detectives, who took statements from numerous residents.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. this morning, three detective units, and one marked cruiser were gathered around a small vehicle parked on Brookside Church less than two blocks from the crime scene, according to Hastings. Officers could be seen looking on the ground in the immediate area of the vehicle and the lawns surrounding the parking lot.
Lt. Brian N. O’Keefe of the Manchester Police Department said that the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office was handling the incident.
