Report: O'Brien Getting More Serious About Congressional Run

Former House Speaker says polling data shows Kuster is vulnerable.

| Updated

On the heels of a failed attempt to add an amendment to a gas tax bill that would have utilized all of New Hampshire's highway funds for road repairs, former House Speaker William O'Brien, R-Mont Vernon, inches forward to a potential Congressional race, facing off against Democrat Ann McLane Kuster.

According to WMUR-TV, O'Brien has been polling the district and believes there is an opportunity for a "fiscally responsible member" of Congress to be elected. He added that he believed that Kuster was vulnerable in 2014 - but her strong fundraising ability would force a strong challenger to come forward quickly. The full O'Brien interview will air at 10 a.m. on Sunday on "CloseUP" on WMUR-TV.
