Police responded and then, called Bill Sturgeon, the owner of the store, who accounted for the missing puppies.

After that, officers began to hit the trail, hunting for clues.

Reports came in from the Lake Avenue area that there were two people with dogs walking in the street. Later, a Lake Avenue resident flagged down an officer and reported that there were dogs in her house that were not hers.

Police used microchips to determine that the puppies were the ones that were stolen. The total value of the dogs was more than $5,100.

Arrested were: Victor Morina, 17; Samara Massey, 18; Curtis Massey, 17; and Ian Forsberg, 17, all of Manchester. All face felony receiving stolen property charges.

According to police, Morina and Curtis Massey was out on bail at the time. Curtis Massey was also wanted on a contempt of court warrant out of Marlborough.
