CONCORD, NH — Two local teenagers have future court dates after being charged with unlawful possession of alcohol after a single-vehicle crash on Elm Street in Penacook last night, according to police. The officers located the car and three occupants outside of the vehicle – a 27-year-old woman as well as two boys, 17 and 16. The woman was reportedly driving but during the investigation, the officers suspected that the teens were intoxicated, according to Lt. Timothy O’Malley, the commander of the criminal investigations unit for the department.

“Both of their eyes were watery and bloodshot and I could smell the distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage on their breath,” O’Malley noted.

After some discussion at the scene, the teens were issued summonses and released to their parents, who were called to the crash scene from Warner. The reporting officer noted that both were respectful with the officers during their interaction with the kids.

At post time, no charges have been issued against the adult driver, according to O’Malley, and the crash is still under investigation.
