CONCORD, NH — What a difference a day can make sometimes with a weather forecast.
On Monday, forecasters suggested there would be little snow accumulation between Tuesday and Wednesday. During the evening, the forecast was upgraded to up to 2 to 4 inches. On Tuesday morning, a winter weather advisory was issued, warning of up to 5 inches of snow, with slippery commutes on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
“Total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches,” an alert stated. “A light glaze of ice is also possible across southern NH.”
The timeline for the storm is from 1 p.m. on Tuesday to 4 a.m. on Wednesday.
In Nashua and central and western New Hampshire, snow will start around noon. It will continue with a mix of rain and snow during the evening and overnight hours, with some ice accumulation. In Concord and the capital region, the snow will start around 2 p.m. During the evening and overnight hours, snow will continue through the morning. Snow will also start after 2 p.m. on the Seacoast. There will be a mix of snow and rain during the evening and overnight hours, forecasters said.
“Even light snowfall amounts can accumulate on roads and cause dangerous driving conditions due to snow-covered roads,” forecasters said. “The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday evening commute.”
Drivers were advised to slow down and use caution while traveling.
The sun returns on Wednesday.
