Wells, a lifetime-registered sex offender and convicted bank robber with a decades-long criminal record who is wanted for absconding from supervision. State corrections officials say Wells, who has used several aliases and has distinctive tattoos, is known to frequent both Concord and Manchester and is considered to have violent tendencies.
2. In Merrimack County Superior Court, Rape Victim Calls Plea Deal For Ex- ‘An Absolute Abomination’ (patch.com) — A Merrimack County Superior Court hearing in Concord saw Wilmot resident Richard French receive additional consecutive prison time after pleading guilty to more aggravated felonious sexual assault charges, while his ex-partner, Concord-area victim Kearra Patten, condemned the plea deal as far too lenient. Patten told the Concord courtroom she felt betrayed by prosecutors and the justice system, urging the judge to reject the agreement and seek a jury trial instead, but the judge approved the negotiated sentence after reviewing evidentiary concerns.

Franklin Thief, Out On Bail, Arrested On New Theft, Willful Concealment Charges: Concord Police Log (patch.com) — Concord’s latest police log details a string of recent arrests and summonses around the city, including drug possession, theft, trespassing, domestic violence, and traffic offenses at locations like Fort Eddy Road, North Main Street, and Eagle Square. Residents can see how officers responded across familiar Concord spots, from local supermarkets and gas stations to downtown bars and recreation areas, all involving allegations that have not yet resulted in convictions.
4. As Legislators Mull Sale Of Sununu Youth Center, New Round Of Abuse Allegations (patch.com) — Lawmakers meeting in Concord are weighing whether proceeds from selling the Sununu Youth Services Center in the city should support the state’s general fund or a victims’ compensation fund, even as new abuse allegations emerge. Disability advocates and the Attorney General’s Office are investigating claims of ongoing mistreatment at the Concord facility, while legislators also review plans for a new, more clinical youth center elsewhere.
5. High School Roundup: Combined no-hitter for Windham baseball; Kearney, Crowley lift Lancers (unionleader.com) — Concord High’s baseball and softball teams both faced Windham this week, with baseball falling 3-0 to a combined no-hitter while softball earned a 5-3 win.
