Rollover Crash Shuts Down Part Of Downtown Concord; 2 People Hospitalized: Video (patch.com) — A serious rollover crash at Loudon Road and North Main Street in downtown Concord sent two elderly occupants of a Chevrolet Trax to the hospital and forced police to shut down the busy intersection for hours. Traffic was diverted using barriers already in place for the upcoming Rock and Road Race, affecting drivers on North Main Street, Storrs Street, and the I-93 Exit 14 southbound offramp.
2. Brush Fire Near Concord Heights Homeless Camp Extinguished By Firefighters: Video (patch.com) — Concord firefighters quickly contained a roughly 100-by-100-foot brush fire near the former Steeplegate Mall and a homeless camp by the Steeplegate Pump Station pond, after multiple calls reported smoke Sunday afternoon. Crews accessed the scene near the old Sears site, knocked the flames down within minutes, and remained in the Concord Heights area for overhaul work.
3. East Concord building that holds market, apartments changes hands (concordmonitor.com) — A well-known East Concord building that houses Eastside Market and several apartments has been sold to new owners, who say operations will remain unchanged for at least a year. The longtime neighborhood market near Merrill Park will keep serving deli items, pizza, and quick bites while the new landlords, self-described Concord enthusiasts, consider future plans.
4. Franklin home damaged in garage fire (concordmonitor.com) — Concord’s South End firefighters helped battle a serious house fire on Hopkinton Road Monday afternoon, one of two back-to-back structure fires that kept area crews busy. A Franklin home was left uninhabitable after a garage blaze, while the Hopkinton colonial also suffered heavy damage, prompting mutual aid from Concord and several surrounding towns.
5. NH Liquor Commission celebrates employees and business partners at annual awards ceremony (unionleader.com) — A Concord NH Liquor & Wine Outlet employee was recognized with a Mentor & Development Award at the state liquor commission’s annual awards, highlighting local excellence in customer service and staff growth. The ceremony also honored several other New Hampshire outlets, distilleries, and wineries for leadership, sales performance, and service to customers statewide.
