CHICHESTER, NH — Police in Chichester are asking anyone with information about a motorcycle crash that turned fatal on Sunday to come forward.
Around 7:30 p.m., Chichester police and fire and rescue teams were sent to a report of a crash on Horse Corner Road, not far from Garvin Hill Road, of a motorcyclist into a utility pole or tree. Later, they learned a motorcyclist had crashed into a utility pole and was in the middle of the road, unconscious and “barely breathing,” a firefighter said. Chichester Fire immediately requested a medical team. Concord and Pembroke EMTs and Concord Tower 1 were sent to the scene to assist.
The utility pole was damaged during the crash, a firefighter said.
The rider, 27, “sustained serious injuries,” Chichester Police Chief Joshua Wright said, and was taken to the hospital. Later, he was brought to a Boston hospital, where he died.

A GoFundMe.com fundraising effort was launched after the accident by the motorcyclist’s sister, Abby Matthews, who said he was taken to Boston, was in the ICU, and was “fighting like hell.” A goal of $14,000 was posted, and $750 raised at the time of publication.
“We don't know how long he'll be here for, and we also want to make sure we are here for him to support him and show how much he means to us,” she wrote. “Please pray for our brother.”
