CONCORD, NH — State troopers are still investigating the cause of a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 393 near Exit 2 in Concord that left multiple people injured, including one seriously.
Around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, troopers responded to a reported four-vehicle crash on the westbound side of the highway in Concord. When troopers arrived, they found one seriously injured driver trapped inside his vehicle.
With help from a Good Samaritan, troopers extricated the driver, according to state police. Additional first responders then arrived and provided medical treatment to the extricated man and another driver who was also injured in the crash. Both were transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
State police said they identified all involved vehicles and drivers, and they are cooperating with the ongoing investigation. State police did not release the names of those involved and are withholding them pending the investigation.
The crash also affected traffic for much of the morning.
I-393 westbound was closed for about an hour and a half while investigators worked at the scene, according to state police. One lane reopened at about 11 a.m., and the highway fully reopened about 40 minutes later.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Merrimack County Sheriff's Office, the Concord Fire Department and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation. State police said the crash remains under investigation.
