• Concord Forest Birth 911 Text Deemed A Hoax; Interim Police Chief Warns Against 'Malicious' Reports (patch.com) — Concord police and firefighters spent nearly an hour searching Walker State Forest and nearby streets late Sunday after a 911 text claimed a homeless woman was giving birth in the woods, but no one was found and the report was ruled a hoax. Interim Police Chief Barrett Moulton says investigators are working to trace the malicious text and warns that false emergency reports in Concord can endanger both officers and the public.
• Be Prepared, Aware, and Responsible When Exploring the Outdoors This Fall and Winter (nhfishgame.com) — State officials in Concord are urging residents to be better prepared for fall and winter outings, stressing maps, extra layers, lights, and knowing when to turn back. Concord-area hikers are also encouraged to buy Hike Safe cards, available online or at Fish and Game headquarters on Hazen Drive, which help fund rescue training and equipment.
