SUCCESS, N.H. — A Massachusetts man sustained serious injuries Thursday afternoon following an ATV crash along Alder Brook Road in Success, state officials reported.
New Hampshire Fish and Game was notified of the incident at about 2:48 p.m. on October 15, 2026. Responders from the Berlin Fire Department, along with a state Conservation Officer, were immediately dispatched to the area.
Investigators identified the operator as 34-year-old Andrew Reeves of Eastham, Massachusetts. According to initial reports, Reeves was traveling at high speed while negotiating a section of the trail when he lost control and crashed.
Members of Reeves' riding party immediately assisted him at the scene and initiated an emergency response. To expedite medical care, the group elected to transport Reeves to Success Pond Road, where they intercepted a responding Conservation Officer. Reeves was subsequently escorted to Androscoggin Valley Hospital for treatment of serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
State officials noted that Reeves was wearing appropriate protective equipment at the time of the incident, which substantially reduced the severity of his injuries.
Following an investigation, Conservation Officers determined that unsafe speed was the primary contributing factor in the wreck. Reeves was subsequently charged with driving at an unsafe speed.
After the incident, Conservation Officers reminded the public that speed remains a primary factor in off-road crashes across New Hampshire each year. Authorities urge all operators to maintain control of their vehicles and drive at speeds suitable for current trail conditions.
