When the battalion commander and other firefighters arrived, they confirmed there was a chimney fire. The commander requested mutual aid, including another tower, to the scene. Allenstown was originally requested to send firefighters just before 7:30 p.m., but that request was canceled. EMTs also went to get a ladder truck, according to scanner chatter.
Firefighters closed the fireplace and most of it burned out due to that action. Other firefighters went on the roof to extinguish any leftover fire along the chimney.
Around 7:45 p.m., the commander said the fire was completely knocked down and they began releasing companies.
