WINCHESTER, NH — Two men were hospitalized Saturday morning following an all-terrain vehicle crash in Pisgah State Park, according to New Hampshire Conservation Officers.

Emergency personnel were notified of the incident at approximately 11:30 a.m. after an ATV went over an embankment along John Hill Road.

Authorities identified the operator as Gregory Bodenair, 39, of Dedham, Massachusetts. Officers report that Bodenair lost control of the vehicle, throwing both himself and his 59-year-old male passenger from the machine.

Neither rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Both men sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A riding companion called 911 for help, prompting a response from Winchester Fire and EMS along with a state Conservation Officer.

Winchester EMS transported both Bodenair and his passenger to Cheshire Medical Center in Keene for further evaluation and treatment.

An initial investigation indicates that operator inexperience was the primary cause of the crash.
