2 Victims Identified, No Charges Brought in Exeter High Scandal

Exeter Police said they have suspended but not closed their investigation, and that charges could still be brought at some point.

Exeter Police have suspended their investigation into allegations of a reported sexual assault against a student at Exeter High School, according to the Union Leader.

Police initiated their investigation in April after a female student told them she was sexually assaulted in 2009. Another aspect of the investigation is a sexually explicit screenplay that the trio wrote called "Graduation Crashers."

Police Chief Richard Kane told the Union Leader that the department identified two victims but decided to suspend the case until more information could be gathered. No charges have been filed, but Kane said the case is not closed and victims still have years to come forward.

The three teachers whose names are on the screenplay – Robert Batchelder, Tod Grossmith, and Mark Forbes – have all resigned. Batchelder was on administrative leave at the time of his resignation.
