American Independence Museum Kicks Off 20th Anniversary [VIDEO]
Officials put together a time capsule and planted a chestnut tree.
The recently celebrated its 20th anniversary by putting together a time capsule and planting a chestnut tree.
The time capsule included a huge copy of the Declaration of Independence that visitors signed. The capsule will be opened at the museum's 50th anniversary.
The tree was donated by the Moffatt-Ladd house in Portsmouth. It will be mature in about seven years.

The museum opened in 1991 after an original copy for the Declaration of Independence was found in the historic Ladd-Gilman House.
The museum is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
