Man who allegedly hit Exeter police sergeant will stay behind bars (wmur.com) — An Exeter police sergeant injured while investigating a hit-and-run is now out of the hospital, while the man accused of punching and spitting on officers remains jailed on preventative detention. Prosecutors say the confrontation began outside ConvenientMD and escalated when the suspect allegedly struck the sergeant, who needed multiple stitches. He faces several misdemeanor assault and resisting arrest charges and is due back in court next week.
2.
