April 25 at Swazey Park Pavillion at 3, we recognize National Child Abuse Prevention Month with a Pinwheel Garden.

Each year in April , GFWC Clubwomen across the country and over the world celebrate GFWC  Federation Day on 4/24 , the commemoration of the Federation’s founding. On this day in 1890, members of 63 women's clubs from throughout the United States came together to form the General Federation of Women's Clubs at a ratification convention in New York City.

Many clubs choose to observe Federation Day with a special event or activity that complements the work they are engaged in throughout the year. Many projects are “Done-in-a-Day.”  The GFWC Signature Project is  Prevention and Awareness of Domestic Violence. We are having a Pinwheel Garden to spread awareness about child abuse. April is also National Child Abuse Prevention Month. We are recognizing the  Prevent Child Abuse America’s national campaign, Pinwheels for Prevention®.  The pinwheel is used as a symbol for child abuse and neglect prevention, reminding everyone that all children deserve a bright future. With millions of pinwheels distributed since the program began in April 2008, and pinwheel activities in nearly every state, Pinwheels for Prevention® is soaring.
On Friday April  25  GFWC-NH will plant a Pinwheel Garden  in Swazey Parkway by the Pavillion. Come join us from 3-4 PM to donate towards a pinwheel to benefit  NH Children's Trust  to eliminate Child Abuse and Neglect and celebrate happy healthy children.

Thanks Carol Waters GFWC-NH President
