Alleged Getaway Driver in Exeter Bank Heist Nabbed

The People's United Bank on Main Street was robbed last month.

Authorities on Monday announced they arrested a man in connection with a robbery at the People's United Bank in Exeter last month

Marvin Eugene Ansteth Jr., 40, of Somersworth was the getaway driver in the heist, authorities said. He was allegedly part of a team that robbed five banks in New Hampshire and Maine in recent months.

The Exeter robbery happened Oct. 7.

Maine U.S. Attorney Thomas Delahanty announced Ansteth's arrest Tuesday. Also arrested were Daniel Barry, 38, of Pembroke and Brianne Mone, 27, of Dover. Barry provided guns for robberies at Kennebunk Savings Bank in Eliot, Maine and Ocean Communities Federal Credit Union in Sanford, Maine, according to authorities. Ansteth was the getaway driver in the Kennebunk Savings robbery, while Mone was the getaway driver in the Ocean Communities robbery, authorities said.

Ansteth faces 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines.
