Bank of America Makes Critical Needs Grant to Families First
Bank donates $15,000 to be used to pay Care Coordinators who help clients meet basic needs.

EXETER, NH – The Bank of America Charitable Foundation recently awarded $15,000 to be used toward salaries of Care Coordinators at Families First Health and Support Center who help clients get their basic needs met.
Care Coordinators help financially distressed, low income individuals and families move towards financial stability by screening them for eligibility for benefits programs, helping them enroll, referring them to other health and social services providers, and following up to ensure any barriers to receiving services are removed.
“People who come to us as patients, and are lacking the basic needs such as a place to live or putting food on the table, are overwhelmed,” said Karen Walton, care coordinator. “That’s why we are here to help them navigate and access the support resources already in place that they may not know about. We help to take care of the whole person, not just physical ailments.”
