BLUE CHRISTMAS DECEMBER 11, 2013
You are cordially invited to attend this once a year service on Dec. 11th at 6:30 p.m. This commercialized time of the year is not always an easy or happy time for us. You may know that Blue Christmas worship originated years ago in many churches around the world to acknowledge our need for healing and hope when grief, illness and discord threaten our lives.
This is our second year to offer members and public friends a time of quiet reflection. This year we will commemorate the Newtown shootings and have a chance to celebrate what is good about awaiting the birth of Jesus once again.

I design this experience as a “de-tox” time of meditation, warmth, belonging and blessed solitude. You will hear silence, music and words to ponder. The service is simple and undemanding. Maybe you won’t attend for yourself alone. Perhaps you will bring with you, a friend or a concern for others.
This Advent may the Christ light that burns in the midst of darkness bring you to worship for a brief and sacred time as a community of faith.
