Boutique Primary Care and Women’s Wellness Practice Opens in Downtown
Nightwater Health Women's Wellness and Primary Care at Exeter Accepting New Patients

EXETER__Rebecca Pare, lead practitioner at Nightwater Health Women’s Wellness and Primary Care at Exeter which recently opened in downtown Exeter, always knew she wanted to become a Nurse Practitioner.
The Plymouth, New Hampshire native said being a Nurse Practitioner appealed to her because she could really get to know the people whose health she was managing. “I really wanted to be in the type of practice where I can form long-term relationships with my patients and get to know them on a personal level,” she said.
Pare recently moved back to New Hampshire after working in California for several years as a Nurse Practitioner in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Stanford Hospital and then Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where she specialized in diabetes in pregnancy. Nightwater Health, where she is the lead practitioner, is accepting new patients and offers both in person and telehealth appointments. They are located on the second floor of 111 Water Street in Exeter.

“I meet the patient where they are with their health both physically and emotionally and talk with them about their lives, what their concerns are about their health and anything else that is going on. Everything is very personalized, it’s not a cookie cutter approach,” she said.
The boutique practice specializes in primary care and women’s health, including routine gynecological and preventative care, contraception, preconception care, and management of diabetes, including gestational diabetes in conjunction with the patient’s regular obstetrician.

Pare has a B.S. in Nursing from the University of New Hampshire and worked as an RN at Exeter Hospital in their Progressive Care Unit after graduation. She went on to treat patients in postoperative surgery care at Massachusetts General Hospital before obtaining her M.S. as a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner from Boston College.
“I genuinely enjoy talking to patients and can honestly say that forming personal relationships is one of the most fulfilling parts of my job,” she said. “Seeing people on return visits, when they come back and say, ‘it worked’ is incredibly rewarding.”
Pare worked at a private practice in Massachusetts providing general obstetrics and gynecology care, prior to moving to California.
“When working in women’s health, I feel it’s a real privilege to be able to take care of people in an intimate part of their lives where you can build trust with them to help better their health,” she said.
Networked with several commercial insurance plans, Nightwater Health is a small practice where patients will be greeted by practice manager, Jennifer Moran, before their appointment with Pare. Patients will usually speak with Moran on the phone to schedule their appointments and are typically able to get in for a visit very quickly.
“They don’t have to talk with multiple people to get an appointment,” Pare said. “The smaller and more personal nature of our practice makes it efficient for patients to come in, have their visit, and get back out to their lives.”
The individualized approach helps inform Pare’s treatment of her patients. “We really get to know the patient and get to spend more time with them, which gives a more holistic view of what’s going on with their health and in their lives so I can choose treatments that are tailored to their lifestyle and medical conditions.”
While practicing in California, she became a Certified Diabetes Care and Education. Pare practices through a “Health at Every Size” framework and uses Intuitive Eating principles in her practice. She believes that health isn’t dependent on body size and works with patients to honor their beliefs and values while working towards improving their health goals.
“Patients may come see me for another reason and expect a speech about weight loss and are pleasantly surprised when that’s not mentioned,” she said. “We’re looking at true markers of health, like vital signs, lab results, how someone feels, do they have enough energy to get through the day.”
Pare lives in Exeter with her husband, two children, and two cats. "We wanted to come back mainly to have our kids grow up closer to family. My husband and I both grew up in New Hampshire and love the environment here from the ocean to the mountains. We both went to the University of New Hampshire and always dreamed of moving back to the Seacoast. " “
