American Independence Museum March Program... Remember The Ladies
Celebrate March Womens History Month at American Independence Museum's "Remember The Ladies" Series.

Her-story or His-story? Writing to her husband, John, Abigail Adams penned a letter asking him to "remember the ladies" as he, Thomas Jefferson and other committee members crafted the Declaration of Independence. An early women's rights promoter, it was Abigail's fervent hope that women's independence and civil rights would be provided for in this document.
With two events scheduled for March, American Independence Museum explores the lives of Colonial era women and their impact on history with "living theater," both beginning at 7pm in the Folsom Tavern at 164 Water Street in Exeter, NH.
On March 14th, meet Paul Revere's mother-in-law, Mrs. Rachel Walker, portrayed by Kate Carney, historian and actress, as she re-creates life in Boston before, during and after the Revolution. Kate's performance includes an
interactive depiction of Colonial frustration with the British pre-Revolution taxes leading up to the Declaration of Independence.

Her husband, Reverend Ripley, became a chaplain for the Continental Congress and local militia, and died while serving in Vermont just 6 months later.
Located at 164 Water Street in Exeter, The Folsom Tavern is part of the
American Independence Museum campus. Both "Remember The Ladies" event
