
The daily newspaper in Concord endorsed Democrat Jackie Cilley and Republican Ovide Lamontagne in their respective gubernatorial primaries.
Cilley also won the endorsement of Foster's Daily Democrat
The Foster's opinion cites her experience, and touts her refusal to pander to "the masses." The editorial excerpt:

"While this will likely be a flashpoint in the general election against a Republican, in the Democratic primary Cilley should earn points for not playing pledge politics. Her refusal to succumb to political pressure is also what will make the fall election for governor more dynamic."
The Concord Monitor writes of Lamontagne:

"Republicans who want an effective spokesman for their views, one willing to at least try to put an end to the partisanship that's paralyzing government, should cast their vote for Lamontagne."
It's an editorial about Lamontagne, but the newspaper couldn't resist starting it with references to , House Speaker Bill O'Brien.
Maggie Hassan, Cilley's rival for the Democratic Party nomination, recently added the Keene Sentinel to her campaign support. And Kevin Smith, Lamontagne's rival in the GOP race, was busy among fellow candidates marching in the Milford Labor Day Parade.
