Rockingham Planning Commission to Host an Open House for Regional Master Plan Development

Rockingham Planning Commission to host a open house on Monday, June 24 from 5:30 to 8:30 at Exeter High School to gain public input on the new regional master plan.

How can we make southeastern New Hampshire the best place to live, learn, work and play? Rockingham Planning Commission is asking community members this question at an upcoming open house on Monday, June 24 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Exeter High School in Exeter, N.H. This event provides an opportunity for community members to learn about the Commission’s work and provide input about local values and needs to be included into a new advisory regional master plan. The open house will include displays, hands-on activities and interactive discussions on several topics, including transportation, economic development, housing, energy, climate change, environment, cultural and historic resource, and land use. All community members are encouraged to attend the open house for a little while or for the entire event to provide their thoughts on the future of the region. The event is free and light refreshments will be served.

In addition to the open house, the Commission will be hosting a series of forums later this summer around the region on specific topics to gain additional public input for the regional master plan. These events are being done as part of a statewide effort to update all regional master plans in the state under the Granite State Future project. Additional information about the regional master plan update is available at www.rpc-nh.org/gsf and information for the statewide Granite State Future project is available at http://granitestatefuture.org/.

Developing a regional master plan that reflects the local needs and values of the region is one of the Commission’s primary duties.
