
Call it the race within the race: Fundraising.
The candidates for governor filed campaign finance reports this week. Here are some snapshots:
- Ovide for Governor reported raising nearly $1.2 million, with more than $718,000 cash on hand, at the end of the first filing period. The campaign says it raised more than $278,000 since Ovide Lamontagne, a Republican from Manchester, filed papers to officially become a candidate. The campaign says 88 percent of the money comes from within New Hampshire.
- Maggie Hassan, a Democrat from Exeter, announced she has raised more than $930,000 since launching her campaign. The campaign has $100,000 cash on hand.
- Jackie Cilley, a Democrat from Barrington, announced her campaign had raised $281,761. Her campaign says 95 percent of those contributing in this filing period live in New Hampshire.
- Kevin Smith, a Republican from Litchfield, raised $324,000 in this period and has $101,000 cash on hand, according to the campaign.
