This Is Puppetry Grades 4 and Up in the fall
Registration deadline 7/13
Camp dates July 20 - 24
9 am - 3:30 pm
Ever wonder how those puppets you see on television and in movies are made? During this camp I teach you the secrets to building your very own foam patterned hand and rod puppet and all the materials, elements, and skills that go into making them look so real and lifelike. We will also learn the fundamentals of creating a character through the use of color, texture, different materials, and movement, as well as how to manipulate your puppet to bring your character to life. These puppets are sewn and covered in fleece using the “Henson” or “Ladder” stitch. No previous puppetry skills needed, (basic hand sewing skills are helpful) just your imagination and creativity are required.
*Eric Weiss, of HomeSlice Pupperty, is award winning puppet maker.
