Stratham Historical Society and Wiggin Memorial Library will jointly sponsor a history program, "Henry Dearborn - From Captain to Cabinet Secretary".  The presenter will be George Morrison, and this is a New Hampshire Humanities Program.   In this presentation, Mr. Morrison explores the life and career of Henry Dearborn, born in North Hampton, New Hampshire in 1751.  He began his career as a young doctor before joining the Continental Army, where he served for over eight years.  Post-war he served two terms in Congress, later as a cabinet secretary, and was, before retiring in 1824, President Monroe's Minister to Portugal.  But in 1818 he found himself in the middle of a controversy that would extend to 1843.  Would you rather be elected governor, or insist on telling the truth?  JOIN US ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 9 at 7:00 PM.  This is a FREE program and is open to the public.  LOCATION:  Morgera Community Room, Stratham Fire Department, corner of Winnicutt Road and Portsmouth Avenue, Stratham.
