Campers Supporting Campers Event Held Aug. 11

Fourth Annual Ping Pong Drop for YMCA Scholarship Fund

Every summer at YMCA Camp Lincoln, more than 1,600 local campers experience the joys of summer camp making life-long friends, building confidence and learning skills to succeed. These campers, from age 3 to 15, bring different life perspectives and backgrounds to camp allowing each child to broaden their understanding of the world around them. More than 10 percent of these campers rely on financial assistance to attend camp.

Fundraising campaigns, like the Fourth Annual Ping Pong Drop, provide much needed funds for the YMCA Scholarship Fund. The Fourth Annual Ping Pong Drop will be held during YMCA Camp Lincoln’s FREE Community Night on from 6 to 8 a.m. on Aug. 11.

More than 1,000 ping pong balls will be dropped from a Unitil bucket truck - by volunteer Unitil employees - with the goal of hitting the target. The winning ball can receive up to $1,000, or 10 percent of all Ping Pong ball sales. Ping Pong balls cost $10 each and may be purchased the day of the event or online at crowdrise.com/pingpongdrop.
