Chef and Farm Partner for Fried Chicken Friday in Newfields

NEWFIELDS__Vernon Family Farm is bringing back their popular Fried Chicken Friday with Chef Matt Provencher this Friday, May 29th.

Provencher will be frying up locally raised chicken from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Newfields farm. Customers can pre-order their fried chicken plate on the farm’s website and pick up on Friday in a drive-through style system. The farm will also have their rotisserie chicken available for pick up.

Provencher is the Executive Chief at the Foundry Restaurant in Manchester, the largest certified Farm to Table restaurant in the state. He has been collaborating with the farm for several years for special events, and makes soups, broths, and pot pies with their local chickens, which are available for sale in the farm store.

Friday’s fried chicken plate ($20) includes two pieces of double-fried, boneless chicken thighs, plus a biscuit, a side of coleslaw, and potato salad.

“It’s a hearty helping for a single adult,’” said Nicole Vernon, who owns the farm with husband Jeremiah. “We love working with Matt, he's creative, thoughtful, collaborative and his food is so delicious."

The fried chicken is not a gluten or dairy-free meal.

The farm is also opening their outdoor patio, by reservation only, on select Fridays. Customers can reserve a patio fireplace area featuring seating for six around a ready to light fire. The farm provides cold water to drink, compostable cutlery and plates. Customers may BYOB while using patio seating. Seating is for a maximum of six people, including children.
