Chocolate Fest

Do
you love chocolate?
The Friends of the Newmarket Public Library is holding
their second annual Chocolate Fest fundraiser on Saturday, April 12 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the library conference
room. You can be involved in two ways: you can enter the contest (no entry fee)
for best chocolate dessert and/or, for the price of admission on the day of the
Fest, you can sample the entries and vote for your favorites. Cash prizes will
be awarded to the best entry from a business and the best entry from an
individual. Voting this year will include voting for the best presentation.

Admission to the Fest is $7 for adults and $4 for children under
12.

Last
year's first place winners were: Solon James of Exeter in the individual

category, for Raspberry Truffle Brownies; and Barbara Gomes Corano of the Pao
Brazilian Café, located at 170
Main St. in Newmarket, for
Brigadeiro, “a Brazilian dessert cross between fudge and toffee.”

To
enter the contest, you need to fill out a form on the library website at

http://www.newmarketlibrary.org/index or you can pick up an entry form at the
library and return it to the library desk by April 8. On April 12, please bring
your entry to the library between 10:00 and 11:30 a.m. so that we can make a space
for it. Doors will open at 1:00
p.m. for the Fest itself.
