Concert of Festive Music for the Holiday Season

The Sandpipers Seacoast Children's Chorus will present its Annual Winter Concert on Sunday Dec. 8 at 3:00 PM at Middle Street Baptist Church, 18 Court Street, Portsmouth.  The concert will feature  movements from Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, carols by Paulus and Rutter, and familiar favorites “Carol of the Bells, “Winter Wonderland, and “ Torah Orah.” Instrumentalists will bring color to this festive program on cello, flute, and recorder, along with a classical piano solo.

The 30 treble voices of the Senior, Junior, and Prep choruses will be conducted by Artistic Director Tamara Rozek, Associate Director Charles Leinbach, and accompanied by Kathy Fink. Sandpipers concerts are family friendly, and present a special opportunity for the public to hear 3-part choral music sung by an auditioned group of children from over 15 towns in the Seacoast Area. Tickets are $10 / $5 for children. Information: www.sandpiperschorus.com.

The Sandpipers program exposes children to the finest choral music from both sacred and secular repertoire, representing diverse styles, cultures, periods, and languages. Auditions are used for assessment and placement in one of three divisions. If your child loves to sing, Sandpipers Seacoast Children’s Chorus has openings and is holding auditions for Spring 2014 by appointment through the month of December. Contact: Tamara Rozek, Artistic Director (603) 436-4226.
