December Happenings at Newmarket Public Library

Trying

to break into the publishing world? Stop by Newmarket Public Library on November 23 at
1 p.m. for “Marketing
for Indie Authors: Find Your Readers and Sell Your Books.” Recent changes in the
publishing industry have made self publishing a viable way to publish a book
and build a writing career; but often, selling the book you have independently
published can be overwhelming. Ariele Sieling, Zoe Cannon, and Christopher
Kellen, all self-published authors, take a closer look at strategies for
finding readers and sharing your work with them.

Would your school-aged child like the opportunity to hear a

story? Thursdays at the Castle is just the thing. The new story program,

for students in grades one through five, will be held Thursdays at 4 p.m.

And of course, storytime for the preschool set continues on

Tuesdays at 10:30.
Children are invited to stop by for a story and craft.

Confused about health insurance options? Stop by the library

on December 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. As of October 1, 2013 the Health Insurance Market Place, part of the Affordable
Care Act, is now open and accepting applications for enrollment.   If
you need assistance in understanding the options available to you and your
family, specifically in the New Hampshire market place, we will have a Certified Application
Counselor from Lamprey Health Care on site at the library to explain your
options and help you enroll.

Winter is almost upon us, and now’s the time to prepare as homeowners. NPL will host “Storm Proofing your Property:  The Effect of Wind, ICE and Snow on Trees, People, and Property.” This program, for the patrons of New Hampshire's libraries, is sponsored by UNH Cooperative Extension and will be held December 11 from 6:30-8 p.m.

her wonderful puppets will appear at NPL on December 21 at 2 p.m.

library, think about joining the Friends of the Newmarket Public
Library
. The next meeting will be December 5 at 7 p.m.
