​'Deconstructing Trumpism' Talk Held March 22

EXETER, NH — To better understand the outcome of last November's Presidential election, the Rockingham County Democratic Committee is sponsoring a talk by Michael McCord at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at the Exeter Inn (Daniel Webster Room), 90 Front St. in Exeter, according to a press statement. Entitled "Deconstructing Trumpism," McCord's address will look at the trends and forces that produced a Donald Trump Presidency.

The event is free and open to the public. There will be a question-and-answer period following his talk.

McCord is the former political editor and columnist of The Portsmouth Herald. A U.S. Army veteran, McCord covered his first presidential campaign in 1980 as a student reporter at Keene State College. During his award-winning career, he has written for dozens of publications including the Boston Globe, Boston Globe Magazine, and New Hampshire Business Review. He is the author of the 2013 political satire “The Execution Channel: A Political Fable” and the forthcoming sequel, “End Times: Further Adventures in Real America.” He also co-wrote the produced play “Think Twice Before You Think” about the American poet e e cummings.

McCord has been interviewed on radio talk shows across the country and appeared on the PBS Newshour. He was the keynote speaker at the 2013 NH Progressive Summit.
