Do you know Exeter's oldest resident?

The Exeter Historical Society is searching for the town's oldest citizen to receive the Boston Post Cane

The tradition of passing the cane dates back to 1909 when when Edwin Grozier, owner of the Boston Post newspaper, sent out hundreds of canes to officials in towns all over New England.

Ottie Lowther was the last Exeter resident to hold the cane. He recently died at the age of 103.
