NEWMARKET — Eighth-graders at Newmarket Junior/Senior High School will sponsor their 2nd Annual Teen Battle of the Bands on Saturday, March 17th at 7pm in the High School Gym. The Admission for the event is $5 to watch various local bands compete for the title of Lamprey Cup Band Champion.
Last year’s the winner was Willie Wanka and Skacolate Factory from Exeter. We encourage teens from all over the seacoast to enter this. First place will receive $300, second place $150, and third place $75. If your teen band would like to enter contact John Bridle at 659-3271 or via e-mail at bridlej@newmarket.k12.nh.us by Feb. 3.
All proceeds will benefit the Grade 8 Washington, D.C. trip scholarship fund. This allows students who otherwise would not be able to afford to attend the ability to go.
