UPDATE: More Medals for Exeter's Arlen

The Exeter High School swimmer was cleared to participate after a controversy regarding her eligiblity.

Exeter's Victoria Arlen just won her third silver medal in the London Paralympics.

Arlen earned second place in today's 50-meter freestyle swim. Her time of 35.22 seconds was an American record.

Exeter's Victoria Arlen on Monday earned another swimming medal in the London Paralympics.

Arlen, 17, won silver as part of the 4 X 100-meter freestyle relay team that came in second to Australia. Arlen on Saturday silver in the 400-meter individual freestyle race.

"So excited to have won a silver," Arlen Tweeted after the event.

Arlen, 17, attends Exeter High School. She was cleared to race in London today after a regarding the extent of her disability. Arlen is paralyzed from the waist down after she was afflicted by the spinal cord disease transverse myelitis.

The International Paralympic Committee ruled last week that Arlen was not disabled enough to participate in the Paralympics. The ruling was reversed, however, after U.S. officials appealed the ruling.

Arlen will compete in the following races on the following dates:

  • 100-meter breaststroke, Wed., Sept. 5
  • 100-meter freestyle, Sat., Sept. 8
